Expo 67
Dad and I have finally processed all the 16mm films and converted them to DVD. There are four (4) in total, with several hours worth of video cumulatively.
The above is a sample I took off one of the DVDs from our trip into Canada in 1967, highlighting our visit to the Worlds Fair in Montreal: Expo 67. The actual DVD resolution is, of course, much better.
There's no sound, of course. I thought I'd add some music but backed out because of the YouTube User copyright agreement. I suppose I could have put up one of my own pieces but I didn't have anything of that length. Maybe next time.
**** UPDATE (2/18 8:20pm) ****
OK, I put up a new version with some of my own music ... no copyright issues. For those of you who don't like modern music, blame it on the endless family "trips" in the red station wagon ... or the Bossanova ... whichever.
****
I want to get us all ... at least the local crew: Dad, Parney and me ... to view these videos together so that I can mike the session and add the audio to a new DVD that would include the commentary. I'd like to get Eric there also, but distance may be a constraint we can't overcome. Give me some options if you can think of any.

That was great! I feel like I was watching a Wonder Year's montage. Some audio would be great. Can only imagine the commentary between the three "locals."
Thanks Meredith!
I'd like for you and Courtney and Chris to be contributors to the blog ... you should have received an invitation last week sometime. If not let me know. I need to have Courtney's and Chris' email addresses, so please contact me with those so that I can invite them as well.
Daddy,
My DVD of that video won't play anymore. Can you burn me another one for when I come down for the weekend soon?
Love,
Sarah
Very interesting- especially Dad's focus for filming.
I don't know how much I could contribute- it was a long time ago- FORTY 4-0 YEARS, ouch! I was just turning 7.
I recalled the block apartments, playing a gin/rummy type of game at the hotel with EXPO '67 cards and the hotel pen which had a letter opener at the end.
Other than that- not much- the clip jogged some memories, like the books getting stamped.
I didn't remember all of us being so damn handsome!
Just curious, does anyone remember specifically how we got there? Did we drive?
BTW- THANKS, Luis!
Love,
ERic
Eric,
The DVD has a lot more ... viz: how we got there, etc.
Great!
Can you burn the DVD and send it down?
You mean the DVDs w/o commentary that I have now or do you want to wait for me to interview Dad and Parney and burn a new one?
